Marine Corps Corporal Rory Hamill, Second Battalion, Eighth Marines, stepped on an improvised explosive device on his third deployment in Afghanistan in 2011, which resulted in the loss of his right leg from his mid-thigh down. Living with PTSD and a prosthetic presents many obstacles, and simple things many of us take for granted can be very difficult. We want to tell his story on a larger scale because his experiences show the resilience of the human spirit and why giving up isn’t an option.
